Day 292

Scarecrows

Sweet moment...
The kids each picked out a scarecrow while we were at Michaels today. Braeden LOVES his. After I took this picture, I went in to use the computer for a min. I thought I'd check on the kids so I pulled open the curtain to look out through the window, and saw Braeden staring at his scarecrow. He turned and saw me looking at him. I smiled, and he smiled back. He continued to smile at me while I looked back at him & then said, "I love you Mom". He tells me that he loves me all the time, but there was just something about that moment that made my eyes tear up and my heart feel full.
I love him, too. I love being his mom, and Aubrey's mommy, and Davis' mama. It's hard work, but it's pretty wonderful. I am grateful for sweet moments with my kids like these.

Day 287

Peter Piper Pizza

This was Dav-o's favorite ride. He loves Bob the builder, so he got a huge smile on his face everytime he heard the song.

Day 286

A fun day at the San Diego Zoo

Since the kids are on "fall break" for this week and next, I have been trying to do some fun things with them. Today we met our friends Erin & Charlotte at the zoo. Kids are free all month, so it was perfect. We really had a great time. I was so happy with how good they were all day, especially since it is a lot of walking. They were just so happy to be there & to see all of the animals.
Oh, and I adore little Charlotte. See was so much fun to play with. She has the funniest personality.

Day 285

Scary Larry

This is the skeleton that sits next to Nana & Papa's front door every Halloween. He is the reason that Braeden will not go anywhere NEAR Nana & Papa's door for the entire month of October each year. A few years ago, Larry the skeleton (named by Aunt Mallory) popped his creepy little head out of his tombstone and screamed at Braeden, and Braeden has hated him ever since.
Today we decided we needed to help Braeden face his fear. So, Aunt Mallory (aka: Aunt Bob), went out front & brought Larry in to see Braeden. As she approached, Braeden began to scream & cry and try to get away. We talked him down, and Bob and Nana & I started talking about how silly Larry's face actually is & that Larry is actually scared of Braeden because he is so much bigger than him. Oh, and by the way, there aren't any batteries in it anymore, Nana got rid of those long ago. Anyway, eventually Braeden calmed down & by the time we left he seemed to be almost okay with Larry. We'll see how their friendship progresses.

Day 284

It's autumn time
I walked into Aubrey's room to find her sorting her leaf collection, and I had to take a picture. She went on to tell me about each one & the different colors that they were.

Day 283

We stopped by Uncle Monty & Aunt Rebecca's house this evening. The kids had a blast running around with their cousin Seth. Plus they think it's pretty cool that Uncle Monty has a truck. Too bad Mom & Dad aren't that cool.

Day 282

Disneyland

It was our first time at Disneyland in almost two years! The kids were beyond excited. I don't think that I have ever been on a Saturday before, but it wasn't too bad. It was our first time at Disneyland with Davis. I loved watching his chubby little hand wave at all of the characters with a big smile on his face.
At the end of the day, we ended up upgrading to year passes again. One of the perks of living in southern California is the cheaper pass. Plus, they have a payment plan now, so that's great. I'm looking forward to many more fun filled days at Disneyland ahead.

Day 277

Tiny Tots

Davis started his tiny tots class today. He is taking it with his cousin Cody. He had a lot of fun, but was kind of grumpy this morning and had a little trouble sitting during circle time.
He is currently obsessed with climbing in and out of chairs. He feels pretty proud of himself when he climbs up and sits in a big chair, but it is stressful for mommy because he is a little reckless.

Day 276

General Conference

This is the only picture that I took today. We had a lovely Sunday. The kids were SO reverent during General Conference and sat through the entire morning session. I was very proud of them. I am very grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and for modern day prophets who speak to us and give us direction. In case you missed it...

Day 275

Hair cut!

Wow. Busy Saturday. One of the highlights was Aubrey finally getting her hair cut. She has wanted short hair for so long now, and we finally cut some of it off. She loves it and feels quite beautiful. She can't stop looking in the mirror.

Day 274

Cowboy/Cowgirl day at school.
I took this picture when I picked them up. They were so excited because there was a pig out front.

Day 267

Goodbye Grandpa James! -Take 2

Grandpa James is officially leaving for a month to train as a truck driver. He left a couple of weeks ago, but they ended up sending him home while he waited for a non-smoking trainer.
So, he's off tomorrow! Good luck!

Day 266

Aubrey's art

Aubrey's friend had a birthday party tonight. Before we left for it, Aubrey came out of the kitchen & told me that she had made her friend a Hello Kitty picture since she likes Hello Kitty so much.

Day 264

Silly

I came outside to find Braeden sitting in his chair. Just enjoying the sunshine I suppose. I said, "Hey Braed0...smile! I want a picture of your cute face." This is the look he gave me. Then he laughed.

Friday, September 17, 2010

Day 260

All about me picnic

Today was the kindergarten all about me picnic. It was a little hot, but its always nice to be at the school with the kids. After it was over I was able to help a little in Braeden's class as well since my mom-in-law was watching Dav-o for me.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 259

Tissue paper flowers

I've been working on decorations for my friend Patty's shower this Saturday. These are some of the tissue paper flowers that I've made, and next to the basket you can slightly see the diaper cake I made.

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 258

Picture Day!

I took this picture of Aubs this morning before school. Doesn't her hair look cute? All curled for picture day. Isn't the finger in her nose cute, as well? haha

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Day 257

Braeden reading a book to dad before bed.

I used to read just one book to the kids before bed, but now they are all at such different levels with their reading that we have to do a different book for each of them. I really, really want my kids to develop a love for reading like I've always had.
